Álvaro Vives Martínez, holds a degree in Telematic Engineering from Telecom Engineering School of Vigo.

At the University of Vigo he worked in an European R&D (FEDER 1FD1997-1195) project related to Digital TV (DVB-MHP Set-top Box). Also was an Invited Professor.

Currently, his activity at Consulintel is mainly focused on IPv6, participating in many IST Projects (Euro6IX, 6POWER, 6QM and Eurov6).

He is in charge of several IPv6 services, among them production DNS servers. He is also involved in experimental DNS extended capabilities, like DNSSEC.
