Pavel Satrapa holds a MSc. degree from the Charles University Prague in computer science and Ph.D. degree from Technical University of Liberec in technical cybernetics. He is the a leader of Department of applied informatics at the Technical university of Liberec.

He is involved in the development of academic networking in the Czech Republic since 1991. He led the IPv6 introduction to CESNET2 Czech national research and education network in 1999. Currently he is collaborating with the CESNET IPv6 team.
